The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, a non-profit organization that supports the 37 national parks in the San Francisco area, has partnered with the Presidio Trust and the National Parks Service to support the New Presidio Parklands Project. Greg Moore, the President and CEO of the Conservancy, is one of BKF’s mentors and a leader in making public parklands accessible and responsive to their surrounding communities. The project plans to create three complementary spaces: a breathtaking 10-acre landscape above the roadway tunnels, a reinvented 3-acre Crissy Field Center Youth Campus with a “Learning Landscape,” and a welcoming plaza for the Presidio Visitor Center. With its new additions, the New Presidio Parklands Project aims to build a naturally welcoming space for the integration of visitors, culture, education, and history. Greg’s fellow, Ben Fash, is also involved in the project, working as the Director of Special Projects for the Conservancy. To get involved in the project, or to provide feedback, ideas, and concerns, attend one of the monthly public workshops in 2015. Read more about the project here.
